Ferris hires new city manager

FERRIS - The Ferris City Council interviewed lone finalist David Chavez Monday night during a city council meeting on Jan. 7 for the position of city manager.

Chavez is the former county manager of Nye County, Nev. and was a city administrator in Marfa, Tex.

After meeting with him, Ferris officials offered Chavez the position and the situation is currently pending.

Gus Pappas resigned as city manager in Sept. 2007 and since then, Ferris has been working without one.
