ELLIS COUNTY - Storms raged through most of north Texas last week, leaving in its wake a path of downed trees and homes without power.
Wednesday, May 2, a massive storm system moved through the area.
The storm knocked down a number of transmission lines and knocking out power to numerous homes in the county, according to one news report.
Diana Buckley of the Ellis County Communications office said the storms downed power lines along Highway 287 and several buildings lost their roofing.
Buckley also said a gas pump at the RaceTrac gas station in Waxahachie blew over.
'(There was) not so much in terms of road damage as the previous storm - wind is not so hard on roads as water,' said Buckley.
Those needing assistance should call the American Red Cross at 903-519-9549.
