WAXAHACHIE - A juvenile was taken into custody Saturday, April 14 after spending the day shooting at passing motorists.
Waxahachie police were called to the scene on University Avenue after a motorist had contacted the department to report her car window had been shot out.
By the time the police arrived, two other motorists had been shot at as they drove down University, one driver being the husband of the first motorist shot at.
The third motorist had her right rear window shot out as she saw the police arriving on the scene.
No injuries were reported and a suspect was taken into custody Saturday then released into the care of his mother. Waxahachie police report the juvenile was given a notice to appear in juvenile court. One of the motorists reported a pellet gun was used in the shooting and police said the gun was confiscated. The police report listed the offense as criminal mischief greater than $500 but less than $1,500.
One motorist was reported as having her daughter in the car with her at the time of the shooting but again, no one was hurt.
The other two motorists were husband and wife.
Once the first shooting occurred the wife called her husband, who proceeded to the scene when his door was struck by the shooter.
It was unknown how many vehicles may have been shot at since there was reportedly a lot of debris along University.
