Waxahachie fire department gets $79,753 Homeland grant

Waxahachie - A $79,753 grant was recently awarded to the Waxahachie Rural Fire Department by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
According to U.S. Rep. Joe Barton, this money would assist the Waxahachie Rural Fire Department in funding personal protective equipment, training, modifications to fire stations and facilities, as well as fitness and wellness initiatives for firefighters.
The grant was provided through the Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program, administered by the Department of Homeland Security's Office of Domestic Preparedness.
