The Ellis County Press
FERRIS - Dallas Cowboy safety Keith Davis visited the Lucy Mae McDonald Elementary School in Ferris on Thursday, Feb. 15.

One of the teachers in the school is fri-
ends with Davis and asked him to come to the TAKS pep rally
to stress the importance of the test.

Davis, who grew up in the little town
of Italy in Ellis County, has been known to go to small town schools to do this sort of thing.

He talked about how he went to a small school too and still ended up in the National Football League.

Davis, who played his college football at Sam-Houston State, answered questions about himself and threw the football with some of the children in the gym.

The principal said if the students tried their hardest on the TAKS, they would be entered into a drawing to win items with Davis' signature.
