ITASCO - Thanks to the U. S. Marine Corps, HILCO members and employees and the citizens of Itasca and surrounding areas, Christmas was a little brighter for youngsters in the community.

An overwhelming number of toys were donated and distributed to local children in December.

The Toys For Tots program began in 1947 and has become an American holiday tradition.

'Christmas is a time of joy, happiness and goodwill; a time of giving and helping those less fortunate, especially impoverished children,' said a HILCO representative.

'The U. S. Marine Corps Reserve is the unchallenged leader in looking after America's needy children at Christmas.'

'HILCO is honored to partner with the U. S. Marine Corps during the holidays and thanks everyone who participated in the Toys For Tots and Angel Tree projects.'
