Glenn Heights - The City of Glenn Heights Planning and Zoning Commission met Monday, Dec. 11 at 7:30 p.m. to approve a specific use permit for Neal's Nursery School located at 1523 Wavecrest Drive.
The permit was approved by the P&Z, and it is now pending approval of the city council.
A Specific Use Permit is needed any time a residence is being used for anything other than the primary residence of the occupants.
A question of why orange marking stakes were placed 40 feet into her (and her neighbors') front yard on Bear Creek Road, without her permission or knowledge was posed to the commission by citizen Paula Martinez.
Since the issue was not on the agenda, the commission would not give any information to Martinez, but rather, referred her to Glenn Heights Public Works Director for information.
On Tuesday, Dec. 12 the Parks and Recreation Board was set to convene at 7:30 p.m. to review issues of soccer fields, a Red Oak Soccer Association proposal, a Red Oak Girl's Softball Association proposal, a water park equipment presentation and to review updates on the scoreboard program.
On Thursday, Dec. 14, there would be a special meeting of the Governing Body of the City of Glenn Heights to certify the results of the Dec. 5, run-off election and to swear in the new mayor-elect, Clark Choate.
There would also be a discussion of 15 retail siite selections.
