Wilmer Pioneer Days runs Thursday thru Saturday

WILMER - The city celebrates its past this weekend during their annual Pioneer Days celebration running from Thursday, Oct. 19 through Saturday Oct. 21.

The party gets kicked off at 6 p.m .Thursday evening when the carnival opens in Davidson Plaza.

Opening ceremonies start Friday night's activities about 7 p.m. followed immediately by a Mister and Miss Wilmer beauty pageant.

Fifteen contestants from babies to teenagers would compete for the title.

People could kick up their heels in front of the gazebo to rock and roll bands Kruise Kontrol on Friday night and Frank Masterson and White Lightening on Saturday night.

Saturday's events start early at 10 a.m. as the parade kicks off at the Adams Street Ballpark before snaking around town eventually ending at the Davidson Plaza.
