HUTCHINS - On Saturday, Oct. 10, a family who was sight-seeing, stopped to look at a landmark located at the Dowdy Ferry Bridge.
As the family walked across the bridge, they saw the unclothed body of a black 41-year old female.
She was discovered approximately 10 feet away from the water in the Trinity River on the northeast shore.
According to Dallas County Sheriff Depart-ment's Deputy Raul Reyna, it was believed the Dallas woman was dead before being thrown over the bridge.
'We don't think the body had been there very long,' said Reyna.
The cause of death had been determined as of press time, but officials said it would not be released for fear it might jeopardize the investigation.
Officials were asking anyone who might have been in the area Friday or Saturday and might have information to come forward.
The victim's name was also not released, pending notification of next of kin.
