Burn ban in effect

WAXAHACHIE - The Ellis County Commissioners' Court re-enacted a burn ban Monday, Nov. 3.
The California wildfires, coupled with a windy, drier-than-normal fall, led county officials to implement the ban again, which is in effect for 90 days.
'This is as a result of heavy wind and an absence of rain,' said County Judge Chad Adams, who noted the ban would be revisited at every meeting during the 90-day period.
