County Fall Stock and Arts Show set for Oct. 24-25

WAXAHACHIE - The Ellis County Fall Stock Show and the Creative Arts Show will be held on Friday, Oct. 24 and Saturday, Oct. 25 at the Ellis County Youth Expo Center in Waxahachie. Livestock can arrive on Friday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., or Saturday morning at 8 a.m.

A Pee-Wee Show for children ages eight years and under will begin at 9 a.m. following the opening ceremonies.

The Junior Lamb, Goat and Heifer Shows will begin at the close of the Pee-Wee Show.

The Junior Steer Show will be held afterwards.

Fees are $20 for steers and heifers, and $15 for lambs and goats.

The Creative Arts Show is open to children and teens up to 12th grade.

Beginners are classified as seven years of age or under; juniors are children ages 8 to 11 years. Intermediate class is for those 12 to 13 years of age, and the senior category is for those 14 years of age to high school senior.

Entries for the show will include baked goods, photography, sewing and needlework and a home arts and craft division, which includes woodworking, ceramics, painted fabric items and artwork.

The Ellis County Expo Center is located on Highway 287 between Waxhachie and Midlothian.
