FERRIS - A Dallas County Hazmat Team stabilized the scene of a diesel spill Monday morning on Central Avenue about a quarter-mile south of Malloy Bridge Road.

Dallas County Fire Marshal Bob Grant said 10-15 gallons of diesel fuel was leaked from an 18-wheeler's fuel tank after going off the road.

'Our main concern was we couldn't let it get into Ten Mile Creek,' Grant said.

'And it did not get in the creek.'

Garner Environment was called to clean up the diesel spill.

The local driver's name was unknown as of press time.

Grant said the man was hauling gravel for Aggregated Haulers of Bridgeport and traveling northbound on Central, when he hit the bridge guardrails and went off the right side of the road.
