FERRIS - Ferris Yellow Jackets, old and young alike, will converge on the M.S. Hammock Agricultural Barn on Central Avenue, Saturday, July 5 for the first annual FFA reunion.
To celebrate the chap-ter's 65th anniversary, the 2003-2004 members are hosting the free event.
'It's a tribute from our current chapter to our past chapters,' said Trina Solis, Ferris FFA reunion committee chair.
M.S. Hammock, Fer-ris' agriculture teacher for more than 40 years, founded the Ferris program July 9, 1938.
Only two scrapbooks have been constructed in the 65 years the chapter has been in existence, from the 1984-1986 chapters.
According to Solis, current chapter officers are hoping former students will bring old pictures, newspaper clippings, or write their recollections of what occurred during their time in FFA.
Reunion organizers will have 'decade tables' with scrapbooks for each decade for former students to fill with memorabilia.
Free hotdogs and hamburgers will be served starting at 1 p.m.
Attendees can participate in volleyball, water balloons, or other games during the reunion.
'We are encouraging alumni to bring old pictures, newspaper clippings, jackets or any memorabilia to donate for our scrapbooks,' said Solis.
The chapter asks those wishing to attend to RSVP by calling FISD Administration at 972-544-3858 or Solis at 972-846-3077.
