FERRIS - Persons young and old will pack downtown Ferris, Saturday, April 26 for Ferris third annual brick festival.

The day will be packed with family friendly activities for parents and their children to enjoy together.

The celebrations just grow bigger and better each and every year, according to Ferris Main Street Director Marietta Allen.

Carter BloodCare will be on Fifth Street for individuals interested in donating a pint of blood.

Persons athletically inclined are encouraged to participate in the 5K Brick Run starting at 8:30 a.m. at the downtown gazebo.

Children will be entertained throughout the day with a puppet and clown show starting at 9:30 a.m. in the tent on the square.

Pony rides and a petting zoo will be available all day for younger children.

Other kids will enjoy the climbing wall, buggy rides and the return of the brick pull.

Parents can enter their little 'angels' in the baby crawling contest starting at 10:30 a.m. or the Little Mr. & Miss Ferris Pageant beginning at 11 a.m.

Any Ellis County youth in grades 4-12 are welcome to register and participate in the Brick Talent Competition scheduled for 3 p.m.

Residents who were unable to attend last month's 'Tie a Yellow Ribbon Campaign' are invited to participate in a salute to our troops surrounding the downtown gazebo.
