Ovilla council election set

OVILLA - The date for Ovilla's City Council election was set for Saturday, May 3 at the council meeting on Feb. 10.
Council seats Place 2, Place 4, and the mayor's seat will be elected on this date.
Interested residents must file as candidates for election at the Ovilla City Hall, 105 Cockrell Hill, between Feb. 17 and March 19.
Place 2 is currently held by Mike Davis. Place 4 is held by Ralph Hall. Hall was appointed by the council to the Place 4 seat vacated by former Councilman Billy Wade when Wade resigned because of poor health. Ovilla's current mayor is Bill Turner.
At the council meeting, Hall and Turner announced their candidacy for their respective offices in the upcoming election. Davis was absent from the meeting because he was out of town.
