FERRIS - Residents have a new Mexican restaurant - sort of.
Fiesta Inn officially moved into its new digs Monday, Jan. 27 at 201 W. Sixth Street from its Main Street location it called home for seven years.
The new - and bigger - restaurant was the former home of Bea's Café for more than 50 years.
Decorated in Mexican art and other cultural items, the popular restaurant now serves breakfast, daily lunch specials and boasts of new Tex-Mex and American dishes.
'People helped us all the way,' said Fiesta Inn owner Ben Martinez, who also operates Ennis' Fiesta Grill.
'People like it, so they stay with us.'
Martinez said his first restuarant was opened in Palmer eight years ago and when he heard about Ferris' empty Main Street building, he opened Fiesta Inn on the corner of Main and Sixth Streets one year later.
'We made enough to open [Fiesta Grill] in Ennis two years ago,' Martinez said.
The Ennis restaurant has been 'wonderful,' Martinez said.
He said a Chicago attorney brings clients to eat at his restaurants frequently, as does a famous Country Western star.
