Red Oak, Italy’s sales tax rebates are up

Ferris, Palmer, Ovilla and Waxahachie revenue down

ELLIS COUNTY - Ellis County cities received sales tax rebates from the State Comptroller's Office on Dec. 13. These rebates represent sales taxes collected in October and reported by Nov. 20.

Ovilla, Waxahachie, Ferris and Palmer received less in sales tax rebate money during the current period this year than last year. In comparison, Red Oak and Italy obtained more tax rebate money during this period than last year.

Rebate figures for Ennis and Midlothian dipped only slightly for the period in comparison with amounts for last year. Ovilla collected $2,685.68 as sales tax rebate payment on Dec. 13. In 2001, during the same period, Ovilla received a rebate of

$5,614.95. The decrease is 52.16 percent. Ovilla has received $69, 934.21 in sales tax rebates during 2002. Waxahachie received a sales tax rebate payment of $521,218.12 for the period. Last year during the same period, Waxahachie collected

$654, 389.16, indicating a decrease of 20 percent. Ferris also experienced a decrease in the amount of sales tax rebates received this period when compared with last year. Ferris obtained a rebate of $7,227. 67. Last year, Ferris received a rebate of

$9,050.13 during the same period. The decrease is 20.13 percent. Ferris has obtained $116,169. 26 from sales tax rebates during 2002. Palmer received a sales tax rebate of $7,564.13 this period. Last year, the city received a rebate of $9,431.17 during

the same period. The decrease is 19.79 percent. Palmer has received $112, 476.59 in sales tax rebates this year. Red Oak and Italy obtained sales tax rebates, which were higher this year than last for this period. Red Oak received a rebate of $94, 402.81

for this period. Last year's rebate was $78,682.85 during the same period. This represents a 19.97 percent increase. Red Oak has received sales tax rebates of $1,116,277.99 during 2002. Italy obtained a sales tax rebate of $6,078.87. Last year, the city

received a rebate of $5,066.84 for this period. The increase is 19.97 percent. Italy has received $96,948.76 in sales tax rebates

during 2002. Ennis received a sales tax rebate of $202,826.87. Last year, the city received $209, 234.27 during the same period, representing a decrease of 3.06 percent. Midlothian received $120,020.76 for the period.
