WAXAHACHIE - A sex-related case involving an alleged aggravated assault by Jerry Ramon, 25, of Palmer, formerly of Ennis, against three children, all of under eight years of age was scheduled to go to trial in March 2002.
Ramon remained incarcerated in the Wayne McCollum Detention Center, the county's jail, on $1 million established by Justice of the Peace Jackie Miller Jr. on each of four counts of charges against him.
Ramon was charged with three counts of aggravated sexual assault of a child and one count of indecency with a child.
The incidents allegedly involved two girls and one boy.
Sources said Ramon's wife had suspected infidelity on her husband's part and she began searching his vehicle for any possible clues.
According to investigators, she discovered several video tapes of Ramon engaging in sexual acts with children.
The wife contacted the Ennis Police Department on Sept. 19.
Ennis police then notified the Ellis County Sheriff's Department.
Investigators interviewed Ramon's wife and took possession of the video tapes.
Ramon was arrested on outstanding warrants issued by the Texas Department of Public Safety.
Ellis County Assistant District Attorney Cindy Ermatinger said the Children's Advocacy Center handled the case.
