Rash of Christmas decorations stolen throughout county

ELLIS COUNTY - A rash of Christmas-related decorations have either been stolen or damaged in and around Ellis County.

Though the incidents are fairly common during the holidays, police officials say keeping a close watch on ornaments will deter most crime.

Residents, whose homes have been burglarized around the county, have also seen vandals take off with Christmas trees.

There hasn't been a case yet in which gifts were taken, but several departments have issued cautionary warnings to homeowners, saying doors, garages, and cars should be locked when unattended.

So far there have been no arrests in the decoration thefts.
