Breaking: Students test negative for TB
RED OAK - Red Oak Independent School District sent the following statement on the current TB case: ROISD values the safety and well-being of our students and staff. With that as our continued focus, we are informing you that we have been notified by the Texas Department of State Health Services regarding the test results of the students who were identified as having prolonged contact with a suspect case who is a staff member. This staff member is currently on leave and not at school. These students were tested by the Texas Department of State Health Services on Tuesday, Jan. 31, and all student test results were negative.
The ROISD Administration will continue to coordinate our efforts with the TDSHS, local city officials, and the ROISD Safety Management Team to insure the safety and well- being of students and staff. As additional information becomes available from the Texas Department of State Health Services, the Red Oak ISD Administration will communicate with parents, staff, and the community at large in order to keep everyone informed.
At this time, Red Oak ISD does not have a confirmed active TB case. All students with prolonged contact with the suspect case (staff member) have tested negative for tuberculosis. ROISD will continue to monitor this situation very closely and we will update our website as new information becomes available.
