LANCASTER – The city of Lancaster began enforcing mandatory water restrictions Monday, Dec. 12. in accordance with Stage 2 of the Lancaster Drought Contingency Plan.
Apartments, office building complexes or other property with multiple addresses may identify their designated watering day by the lowest address number.
Irrigation of landscaped areas is further limited to the hours of 12 midnight until 10 a.m. and between 6 p.m. and 12 midnight on designated watering days.
Irrigation of landscaped areas is permitted at any time by hand-held hose, faucet filled bucket or drip irrigation system.
As a city of Dallas wholesale water customer, Lancaster is enacting the Drought Contingency Plan to address the ongoing drought weather conditions impacting Dallas’ water supply.
Water conservation measures in place are to facilitate a goal of a five percent reduction in water consumption.
