Death of child under investigation

GLENN HEIGHTS -  Glenn Heights Police and Fire Departments responded to a call about an unresponsive 10- year-old on the 1700 block of Carrington Drive Thursday, Dec. 1. 

Identified later as Tommy Dixon, the child was not breathing when police officers arrived  and initiated life saving treatment measures until the Fire Department Paramedics came for advance treatment.

Dixon was transported to Charlton Methodist Hospital in Dallas where he was pronounced dead at 6:13 p.m.

The circumstances surrounding his death are still under investigation by the department’s Criminal Investigations Division. 

According to police, the preliminary investigation reveals that there is no indication of foul play and the death appears to be a tragic accident.  

The final autopsy results are still pending.
