Burglary suspects caught
FERRIS - Ellis County Sheriff investigators, with the assistance of the Ferris Police Department, arrested two suspects in connection to a string of thefts in the area Thursday, Nov. 15.
When sheriff deputies were dispatched to the 5000 block of FM 660 for a possible burglary in progress, deputies learned the victim of the offense was possibly following the suspects into the city of Ferris.
Ferris officers were able to stop the suspects’ vehicle and arrest Waxahachie resident Daniel Maum, 29, and Ferris Resident Reynaldo Romero, 39. Property taken during the burglary offense was recovered in the suspects’ vehicle.
During the course of the investigation , ECSO investigators were led to a residence on the 9100 Block of Whitehall Street in Dallas where a four wheeler and a hydraulic dump trailer believed to be stolen were recovered. Precinct 3 Justice of the Peace Curtis Polk set bonds for Maum and Romero for $20,000 each.
Investigation is currently ongoing and ECSO anticipates clearing a number of burglaries and offenses in the area linked to the two men arrested.
