The first nationwide test of the Emergency Alert System will take place at 1 p.m. Central Time on Wednesday, Nov. 9,

The broadcasters, along with FEMA and the FCC, have been working hard to ensure both the success of the test AND that the public is informed and fully aware in advance.

The purpose of this test is to assess the reliability and effectiveness of the system in alerting the public.

A “Consumer Fact Sheet” provided by the FCC is available if additional information is required regarding this drill. To receive a copy, call 972-825-5555.
