BRISTOL - On Sunday, Oct. 23, citizens of Bristol woke up to discover a movie was being filmed in their small town.

Norry Niven, President of Stone Core Films in Dallas and Loren Basulto, who has directed and produced various movies, were directing a film called “Chasing Shakespeare,” a movie about an interracial romance, at the Bristol historical schoolhouse and the Bristol cemetery.

Some of the major actors starring in the film include Danny Glover, who starred as Roger Murtaugh in the “Lethal Weapon” series, Graham Greene, who starred as Harry Clearwater in the “Twilight” series and Ashley Bell, who starred as Nell Sweetzer in the “Last Exorcism.”

Greene stated he had only been on the “Chasing Shakespeare” movie set for a few days due to other movies he is currently acting in.

The locations manager of “Chasing Shakespeare” reported the film makers chose to shoot parts of the movie in Bristol, Texas because of the town’s “marvelous school that is a great match to the story.”

Most of the crew who help in producing the movie reside in different parts of Texas and  the entire movie of “Chasing Shakespeare” is to be filmed only in the state of Texas.

It was also reported by the crew members the filming of “Chasing Shakespeare” has been ongoing for three weeks, with one more week of filming to complete the movie.

More filming of the movie will occur in the Ellis County area throughout the week.

“Chasing Shakespeare,” written by James Bird,  is reported to come out in movie theaters in 2012.
