Robbed at gunpoint; $50,000-$60,000 stolen from residence
ENNIS- Ellis County Sheriff Office, along with the help of the Ennis Police Department, apprehended three men Tuesday, Oct. 11 for robbing a 60-year-old man at gun point in his bed.
“The man was threatened by the three men that if he called law enforcement they would come back and kill him,” said Lt. James Saulter.
The ECSO received a call around 8:40 a.m. about the aggravated robbery on the 4100 block of FM 1722 but authorities believe the robbery took place around 5 a.m.
The three men stole guns, jewelry and various other items in the 60-year-old victims home valued at $50,000-$60,000.
Later in the afternoon, a white Toyota SUV was pulled over during a traffic stop conducted by Ennis PD where all three men were discovered.
Daniel Aaron Anderson, 34 from Bedford, fled the scene and was found hiding 30 minutes later in some brush on the North East corner of Main and Baylor Street by sheriff deputies.
Anderson and Frank Darrell Fones III, 23 from Ennis, were transported and arraigned at the Wayne McCollum Detention Center in Waxahachie and charged with aggravated robbery.
After investigation, the third suspect arrested will not be indentified and is being released from jail because he wasn’t the third suspect involved in the robbery.
“Simply in the wrong place at the wrong time,” said Saulter.
Authorities still believe there is a possible third suspect and the investigation is still ongoing.
