FERRIS – Nathan Moses, 30, and Melinda Ann Schene, 30, were found shot in their home Thursday morning, Jan. 28 on the 600 block of Valley View Lane.

"Someone came into the department and said there was blood splattered on the walls,"said Ferris Police Chief Frank Mooney.

"Right in the walkway there was a young man shot as you open the front door and in the kitchen a young female’s body was discovered."

According to police, the couple had just moved in and had been living there only a few days.

"They both have been shot and it looks to be a pretty cut and dry case," said Mooney.

Ellis County Sheriff’s Office was at the scene of the crime investigating.

"A search warrant was filed with the district clerks office and executed Friday," said Investigator Sam Love.

This is the second double homicide to occur in Ferris in less than a year.

Steven Taylor, 39, and Jeanine Johnson, 29, were found dead in their home on the 400 block of South Church Street last March.

"We had tons of info on them from last year but no leads as to who the killer was," said Chief Mooney.

Anyone with any information about either two separate killings is urged to call the Ferris Police Dept. at 972-544-2225.
