MIDLOTHIAN – Robin Bullock, working for Midlothian Independent School District since 2000, was named the interim superintendent by the board of trustees during a special called meeting on Monday, Nov. 30.

J.D. Kennedy, acting superintendent, gave his letter of resignation to the board during the same meeting.

"It is a mixture of emotions that I request board approval of my resignation as superintendent of schools for Midlothian ISD effective Dec. 31, 2009," stated Kennedy.

Kennedy is the lone finalist for McKinney ISD’s superintendent position effective Jan. 1.

"If contract negotiations with McKinney ISD fail, then this resignation request will be null and void and the current contract with Midlothian ISD will continue to remain in effect," stated Kennedy in his letter to the board.

Bullock received her Masters of Science in Secondary Education from Troy State University in Alabama, earned Educational Administration certification and Superintendent certification through The University of Texas at Arlington and received a Bachelor of Arts in Secondary English Education from Northwestern State University in Louisiana.

The school board is currently in the process of hiring a superintendent search firm to assist in hiring a new superintendent.
