AUSTIN - Ovilla native Wayne Hamilton was named the Republican Party of Texas' senior adviser Monday, Nov. 30 after the party's executive director resigned to return to private law practice.

Hamilton served as the party's executive director in the early 90s and currently works with Craig Murphy and Associates, a political consulting firm.

The state party headquarters already features an Ovilla native, Bryan Preston, who serves as the party's communications director.

Preston, a Red Oak High School graduate and co-founder of national blog HotAir.com, was hired over the summer.
