CEDAR HILL - An Ovilla man who claimed he was a doctor and had a case filed on allegations he sexually assaulted "patients" is being investigated again.
This time, for an incident that occurred Jan. 27 at Smith Chiropractic located on Beltline Road in Cedar Hill.
According to reports obtained from Cedar Hill Police Department, Charlotte Smith, 62, filed a complaint with the police after she had an encounter with an "alleged" doctor, Bruce Hacker.
"He pretty muchrefused to fill out paperwork [new patient] and he just gave off this creepy vibe to me," said Holly Lorren, secretary.
"That’s when I did a search for him on Google and Joey’s [Dauben] story came up about him [Hacker] and his sexual assaults from your paper," said Lorren.
The police report states Hacker, claimed he was a doctor working in Oncology who recently had hip surgery and was in need of therapy for it, wanted to go back and visit Smith for a consult.
As he was speaking, he reportedly told Dr. Smith her glands in her neck looked swollen and lunged at her neck, saying he could massage them and make it better.
She backed away and he allegedly returned to his seat.
Hacker, who Ellis County District Attorney Joe Grubbs refused to prosecute when Ovilla police brought forth original charges to light several years ago, has been going around since the late 80’s allegedly operating a chiropractic business without a license-an offense that could carry hefty fines and jail time if convicted.
Since then, numerous victims have come forth and alleged Hacker has inappropriately touched them.
"We received a complaint and sent the case to the grand jury[in 07] who no billed him," said Lieutenant Molly Dox of Ovilla Police Department.
Calls to Grubbs’ office seeking comment have yet to be returned as of press time.
"Now that this case is in Dallas County, victims of Hacker might get some real justice," said former Ellis County Press news editor Joey Dauben, the author of the original Hacker expose last year.
"It’s obvious Grubbs’ office can’t or won’t prosecute or at least will make it difficult for creeps like Hacker to get away with this. It’s a good thing his latest exploits occurred north of here. We might get to see what a real court case is."
