County schools to receive $12,033,700 stimulus funds

Austin – Ellis county school districts could have an additional $12,033,700 over a two-year period to spend as part of an economic stimulus package which is scheduled to go to the house floor for debate.

The funding is part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Plan, which is aimed at increasing better opportunities for students in the classroom and jobs to help move the nation’s economy forward.

A breakdown on what the independent school districts will receive in the county are as follows:
