FERRIS – To help ensure the children of Ferris have a safe and pleasurable Halloween evening, the Ferris Police Department will be hosting three sites youth can go to and receive candy in a safe manner.

The event will be held on Thursday, Oct. 30, from 6-8 p.m. at the following locations:

Jamie Birdwell and Megan Drive, N. Church St. and W. Second St., Wolf Springs and S. Meadow Dr.

A police vehicle will be present at each of these locations and officers will be handing out goodies to the children.

The reason cited for an early Halloween event is the football game on Halloween night Friday, Oct. 31.

The police department encourages youth in the community to come by the police department at 201 S. Church St. before Halloween and pick a free Halloween trick or treat bag.
