Brown has loaded war chest
WAXAHACHIE – Ellis County elections are just around the corner, and already, some big-name contributors are popping up in campaign finance reports.
With almost $8,000 in cash-on-hand, Republican Johnny Brown will have plenty to spend on his write-in opponent, Susan-Welch Rodriguez.
40th District Judge Gene Knize’s $250 donation to Precinct 3 Commissioner Heath Sims’ re-election campaign was one of two recent contributions from prominent supporters of the popular Waxahachie incumbent.
Developer Joe Rust kicked in $100 to Sims’ campaign against Democrat Jim Schico for the Midlothian-to-Milford precinct.
