RED OAK – Just a short trip down Ovilla Road, you can find some of the happiest people in the county.

The residents and patients of the Red Oak Health and Rehabilitation Center give three cheers for a new approach to socialization and therapy.

Facility management brainstormed to come up with a fun and creative way to get residents out of their rooms and help therapy patients from becoming bored with the same routines. Their solution? Wii hab!

Wii

hab coordinates different Wii games with individual patients’ occupational and physical therapy routines.

The program has shown great success so far.

Participants find the program both challenging and rewarding.

"This just goes to show the Nintendo Wii is made for kids of all ages," said one patient.
