Groundbreaking ceremonies for two new Red Oak schools, Shields Elementary held Tuesday, June 3 and the new $75 million Red Oak High School  was held Thursday, June 5.

The two campuses are being constructed using bond funds approved two years ago.

Shields will replace the current school by the same name in Glenn Heights; in fact, land for the new campus is located directly behind the Ovilla Road Elementary.

The new ROHS will be located across from Red Oak’s renewed downtown area, at the corner of Highway 342 and Louise Ritter Blvd.
