DALLAS COUNTY –  A police chase starting in Palmer and continuing Northbound through Ferris, Wilmer and Hutchins resulted in a young man’s death on Thursday, Sept. 22.

Aaron Racey Davis, 21, was racing at speeds of  at least 140 miles per hour  while fleeing from police in Palmer before crashing and falling 100 feet from a highway ramp between Interstate Highway 45 and Interstate 20.

According to reports, the I-20 interchange and Davis’ speed prevented him from making a turn and he flew over the guardrail of an overpass.

The fall caused fatal injuries.

Davis was transported by CareFlite to Parkland Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 8:43 p.m.

The chase started when an officer in Palmer tried to pull him over for speeding around 8 p.m. that evening.
