Health officials to address public after TB scare
Ennis: After hearing concerns from around the community about the tuberculosis situation at Ennis High School, Rep. Joe Barton (R-Ennis/Arlington) and State Rep. Jim Pitts (R-Ellis County) helped facilitate a community meeting Wednesday night with health officials from the Texas Department of State Health Services (TDSHS).
The meeting will start at 7 p.m. at the EHS Auditorium and everyone is invited to attend and ask questions.
The following state officials are confirmed to be attending the meeting:
- Dr. James Zoretic, TDSHS Regional Director
- Dr. James Morgan, TDSHS Assistant Commissioner for Regional & Local
Services
- Dr. Lisa Cornelius, TDSHS Regional Director
Dr. Cornelius, Dr. Morgan and Dr. Zoretic, in addition to being MDs, hold MPHs (Masters of Public Health).
Local officials, including Congressman Barton and State Rep. Pitts, will also be at the meeting.
Those in the community with questions about this public health situation are encouraged to attend this meeting.
