WAXAHACHIE - Beginning Wednesday, Sept. 21 at 5 a.m., traffic will be detoured on West Main to repair the street from a previous water leak at the intersection of Rogers Street and West Main. The repairs will last two days, with an estimated completion time of 2 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 22.

Both Wednesday and Thursday beginning at 5 a.m., eastbound traffic on West Main will have to turn south on Elm Street, east on Franklin Street, north on College Street, and back east on West Main. This detour route will be in effect until approximately 2 p.m. each day.

During this time, both left turn lanes on Elm Street at the intersection of West Main will also be closed to help make room for large trucks making right turns. The westbound traffic will not be re-routed.

“These detours are necessary to complete repairing the street from a previous water leak. We will begin as early as possible each day to help minimize the impact on traffic,” said David Bailey, Director of Utilities.

For questions or more information regarding these detours and repairs, please contact the city of Waxahachie at 972-937-7330, ext. 284.
