Eastbound I-30 lanes at Zion Road to be closed overnight Wednesday
DALLAS COUNTY – Weather permitting, the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) is allowing the closure of eastbound I-30 main lanes just west of Zion Road beginning at 11 p.m. Wednesday, September 14, 2011 through 4 a.m. Thursday morning, September 15, 2011. The closure is necessary for the safety of the traveling public as the contractor places bridge deck for the President George Bush Turnpike (PGBT) direct connector across I-30.
Motorists traveling eastbound on I-30 will be directed to exit at the Zion Road exit (Exit 61) onto the frontage road and will return to I-30 mainlanes at the entrance ramp east of Bass Pro Drive. Message boards announcing the lane closures have been placed to notify motorists.
This work is part of the $1 billion President George Bush Turnpike (PGBT) Eastern Extension project that connects I-30 to the existing PGBT. TxDOT is managing construction of the new Lake Ray Hubbard bridge and I-30 interchange which are scheduled for completion by spring 2012.
TxDOT and Austin Bridge and Road, LP would like to thank area drivers, local businesses and municipalities for their continued patience and cooperation as crews work hard to complete this project as soon, and as safely, as possible.
