Ennis High School teacher resigns after arrest
Ennis Independent School District has released the following:
"We have been made aware that a former teacher with Ennis ISD has been arrested by the Ennis Police Department.
Joshua Jaggears, who had been employed by the district for five years, tendered his resignation to EISD on Tuesday, Aug. 31. He taught agriculture at Ennis High School."
The district will continue to offer its strong support to the ag program and will work toward filling the position.
The district has been fully cooperating with law enforcement authorities. EISD was made aware of the allegations on Friday, Aug. 26, at which point the teacher was placed on administrative leave.
Ennis ISD is also ensuring that students involved in the allegations have the opportunity to receive the counseling and support they may need.
Student safety and security remains a top priority for the district. EISD will continue to cooperate with law enforcement authorities in their investigation as needed.
