Long time comin'; Final piece of depot restoration arrives

Train Enthusiasts and History Buffs Alike showed up for the “lowering of the train” at the MKT Depot in Historic Waxahachie Thursday, Aug. 4.  The “missing piece” has been awaiting delivery for months since the completion of the depot restoration. “We are thrilled our missing piece is finally here,” said Historic Waxahachie Member Becky Kauffman.  The painting and restoration of the train will take place as soon as funds are raised. “ Memberships are open to anyone- you don’t have to live in Waxahachie- who has a love for history and preservation,” said President of Historic Waxahachie Jane Yeagar. If interested in helping out you are encouraged to contact Yeagar at janeyeagar@earthlink.net .
