Actor Martin McCann who portrayed R.V. Burgin, right, in the HBO miniseries “The Pacific” posed for a picture at a local trade show last year. Burgin is a current resident of Lancaster, a Marine Veteran and author of the now famous story brought to life during the HBO miniseries run. Burgin is scheduled to speak and have a book signing at the Texas Civil Defense monthly meeting on Saturday, Aug. 13 at the old elementary school on Methodist and Red Oak Road at 9 a.m.
