ELLIS COUNTY – Funeral services for Sofia Arciba, 84, were held at 9 a.m. at Church of God of the First Born in Waxahachie.
Born Feb. 20, 1924 in Beeville, Texas, the daughter of Tiburtio and Mamencia Lopez, she passed away Saturday, Oct. 18, 2008.
She lived in Ellis County for 41 years.
Preceded in death by her husband Narciso Arciba and a son David Arciba; she is survived by eight daughters Catarina Cuellar, Estella Martinez, Paula Gonzales, Olivia Kelly, Janie Gutierrez, Beatrice Rivera, Victoria Garcia and Elena Aleman; four sons Simon Arciba, Narciso Arciba Jr., Miguel Arciba and Adolfo Arciba; three sisters Lucy, Carlota and Adela; five brothers Serafin, Fidel, Marcos, Teborsio Jr. and Robert; 61 grandchildren; 86 great-grandchildren and 16 great-great-grandchildren.
Interment followed in the Waxahachie City Cemetery under the direction of Waxahachie Funeral Home.
