FERRIS – Funeral services for Ellis Bob Broxson, 74 of Ferris, were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 30, 2008 at Green Funeral Home with Rev. Kathryn Love officiating.
Born Oct. 7, 1933 in Kaufman, the son of the late Ellis and Ellen (Hodges) Broxson, he passed away Saturday, Aug. 23, 2008 at Baylor Medical Center in Dallas.
He was the former owner of the Feed Barn in Ferris and Blockman for Brisket Bar-b-que and Texas Bar-b-que. He served in the U.S. Army as a Private First Class during the Korean Conflict.
Preceded in death by his parents and brother Jimmy Broxson; he is survived by his wife Dessie (Hope) Broxson of Ferris; daughter and son-in-law Peggy and Kevin Compton of Mabank; son Jimmy Bolton of Ferris; son and daughter-in-law Timothy and Tona Lunsford of Lafayette, La.; 12 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Kevin Compton, Bryan Abbott, Robert Gowin, Tay Masterson, Pat Masterson and Keith Gannon.
Interment followed in the Laurelland Memorial Park in Dallas under the direction of Green Funeral Home in Ferris.
