RED OAK – Red Oak Independent School District Board of Trustees has appointed Jon Hooper to fill the board seat left vacant by the resignation of Brent Stanford.

The board received three applications for the position and all three were interviewed.

Hooper, along with his wife Nancy, has lived in the Red Oak community for the past 16 years.

They have two daughters; the oldest graduated this past May from ROHS while the youngest is a junior at ROHS.

Both Jon and Nancy are long time supporters of ROISD and have both served in many capacities.

Most recently, Jon has served on the Growth Management Committee, which recommended the building of the new Shields Elementary and the new Red Oak High School as well as the Bond Oversight Committee.

Hooper, an attorney at Republic Title in Dallas brings a strong legal background with him to the position, which is a benefit to ROISD.

The board received three applications for the position and all were interviewed.

He will take the oath of office at the board meeting tonight at Red Oak Elementary.
