RED OAK – Red Oak’s swim team completes its season with high honors at the district, region and state level.
The boys and girls swim team each won the District Championship for the second year in a row.
The district meet was held in Rockwall on Jan. 30
Brother and sister, Hunter and Hannah Garza were named District 15 – 4A swimmers of the year because each swimmer won all their individual events.
Every member of the Red Oak team was qualified for the Regional Swim Meet held in Conroe on Feb.12 -13 placing in the top 16 and placing 5th overall out of 22 teams in the Region 4- 4A.
While the season is nearing its end, Hannah Garza is qualified for the state meet this weekend Friday, Feb. 26 and Saturday, Feb. 27 in Austin.
Garza will compete in the 50 and 100 freestyle.
Currently she is ranked 5th in the state.
