The University Interscholastic League recently announced its district alignments for the 2010-2011 and 2011-2012 school years. UIL governs most secondary extracurricular activities in Texas and assign classifications to schools based on the high school enrollment.

During the October snapshot date, Midlothian High School had 2,215 students.

The cut-off to be considered a 5A school district is 2,065+ students.

Therefore, MISD is now a 5A school district.

Midlothian schools will be in District 5-5A.

Here’s their new district:

· Cedar Hill

· Duncanville

· Grand Prairie

· Mansfield High

· Mansfield Legacy

· Mansfield Timberview

· Midlothian

· South Grand Prairie
