DeSoto - The DeSoto High School athletics department will be hosted college-bound student athletes, their families, coaches and college representatives on National Signing Day, Wednesday, Feb. 3. A record 13 football players were to sign letters of intent for various colleges at the event to be held at DeSoto High School Auditorium at 10 a.m.

Although there are numerous signing periods for college sports, football, which always falls on the first Wednesday in February, is the most followed.
A letter of intent is binding for both the player and school for one academic year as long as the player is eligible to enroll at the college.
Among those signing letters of intent on National Signing Day: Running back Marcus Murphy – University of Missouri; Wide receiver Darius Terrell – University of Texas; Defensive back Adrian White – University of Texas; Defensive end Byron Hudson – Texas State University; Defensive back Vincent Eddie – University of Louisiana at Monroe; Wide receiver Xavier Traylor – Angelo State University; Defensive back Jonathan Thompson – Kilgore Jr. College; Defensive back Traun Roberson – University of Texas at El Paso; Linebacker Zachary Orr – University of North Texas; Offensive line Adrian Adams – Southeastern Oklahoma State University; Offensive line Michael Francis – Georgetown University; Offensive line Evan Washington – Louisiana State University; Defensive tackle Brandon Forge - University of Texas at El Paso.
