RED OAK - The Lady Hawks hosted the 9-0 District leading W Mesquite Lady Wranglers on Friday, Jan. 29.

The Lady Hawks are in a good position to make the play-offs and a win over West Mesquite would have been huge for them.

The game was close throughout much of the night and the Lady Hawks had an early eight point first period only to see the Lady Wranglers scratch their way back to take a three point lead into halftime.

The second half was more physical as indicated by the 4-1 personal foul number ratio.

The Lady Hawks were charged with 12 fouls while the Lady Wranglers had three the entire second half, but probably more importantly, the Lady Hawks couldn’t get their shots to fall. It was just one of those halves where nothing really went their way.

Although the score board showed a 10 point loss, the Lady Hawks never gave up and if some of their fourth period shots would have gone in, the Lady Wranglers good have easily lost their first district game.
