The Lady Hawks hosted the Lady Panthers in District 15-4A basketball on Friday, Jan. 8. The freshman girls set the tone for the night and put it on the girls from Mabank.
The freshman girls rolled to victory 40-20. The JV game was even worse for Mabank.
The JV girls had a double digit lead midway through the second period and by halftime were up by 30 points.
Lady Hawks’ Taylor McCullough (#5) alone had more points in the first half than the entire Mabank team.
The JV Lady Hawks were just too fast, too big, and are more talented and cruised to a 71-37 win.
In the varsity game, it took the Lady Hawks about three minutes to warm up.
After Lady Panthers went up 4-0, the Lady Hawks got things rolling and ripped the Lady Panthers for 12 straight points and took a 38-14 lead into halftime.
After a quick start by the Lady Panthers to begin the third period, Coach Fulmer called a quick time out and the Lady Hawks were back in control and went on to big 69-39 district win.
